The client wanted to introduce spicy Mexican gummies to the Canadian market, but struggled to create a brand identity that felt authentic to Mexican culture while still connecting with a Canadian audience. The challenge was to develop a visual identity that balanced boldness, fun, and cultural fusion in a way that felt modern, approachable, and memorable.

Solution :

The solution was to create a bold and expressive brand identity that blends Mexican and Canadian cultural influences through vibrant visuals, modern typography, and playful graphic elements. The name AH JIJO! comes from the Mexican expression “ah jijo,” a phrase commonly used when something is spicy, surprising, intense, or unforgettable. The expression became the foundation of the brand identity, helping communicate the playful and bold personality. The logo was designed using three of the most popular gummy shapes in Mexico, which together form a happy face to reflect the fun, energetic, and approachable personality of the brand.

Summary:

The final brand identity was applied across all product packaging and visual elements to create a consistent and recognizable experience that reflects the playful and bold personality of AH JIJO. The products are currently sold in Mexican restaurants across Toronto, helping introduce authentic spicy Mexican gummies to a wider Canadian audience while celebrating Mexican culture through design and flavor.
